@aaroneaus if the promises were a means to social organization, gaining a better relationship with peers in your community etc.. those promises could be backed as well as a profound sense of social pressure to act in an " acceptable norm".. these are not the made promises.. the promises are the absolution of sins, heaven in the afterlife etc all as false as? me promising you a reincarnation as a beautiful king in your next life time if u were to shout from your knees 3 times a day i love th3wab3

@applesweeter self actualisation is achieved when you reach your true potential, like when you get the job, you feel happy, that is self actualisation, it does not last a great deal of time, however if your life is full of challenges then youll keep experiences self actualisation. you can achieve self actualisation through getting promoted, or doing charity work, thats not giving money but actually helping? people out to the best of your ability. or having children

Maslow's Hierarchy of delusion, firstly acquire stuff, then protect your stuff, then blackmail others into loving you because of your stuff, the more stuff the more "love", you still have to protect your stuff, because it was the stuff affords you love. Then make sure you self delude yourself into participating in this crazy society, because you can acquire more stuff. Then finally work as a slave for? your favourite corporation(thinking you're someone important) to acquire more stuff.

Dear All, I have some questions about psychology: (1) How do flying and piloting relates to self-actualization? (2) How does sky and flying relate to religion? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and? brainstorm!!! :)

@gespilk - Not to single out gespilk but this comment represents so many of the responses voiced here. These comments/replies are indicative of some deficiencies which America suffers from today:Lack of tolerance, love, understanding, compassion and respect for the others persons points of view. This is especially true when someone is bold? enough to mention they have a religious or spiritual point of view. The flaming is fast and harsh in these circumstances. I find it sad & lament for us.

The concept of passive imposition sounds fascinating. Perhaps you? will do a video on that for us.
By: headlessprofessor. on 07 Nov 09, 19:40:42
I would love to? see you do a video on "natural common sense" and compare that to the inductive and deductive forms of reasoning.

Thank you for your lectures, I find them to be very interesting and highly insightful... Would it be too much to ask for a similar presentation on the late Joseph? Campbell?

That passively impose someone elses beliefs/percieved morality/rituals without allowing for a person to draw there own "inate" natural conclusions by virtue of being? from natural law.. I conclude: Religion perpetuates a dependancy/addiction on a parasite through false promises
By: Th3Wab3. on 01 Nov 09, 21:48:11
Well if u consider that the norm does not support nature or essential needs or the substance? that natural law requires. Eg: abrogation of natural common sense to those in the religious hierachy. The existance of pastors clergy etc contradicts the idea that the lord has blessed u with all that you need to function within u because they exist asmasters...

QUESTION #2: Why do you assume that religion is? a deformation or off the natural way? Anthropological and archaeological data indicate that religion is the norm.
By: headlessprofessor. on 19 Oct 09, 17:00:34
QUESTION #1: Are all systems of doctrine and value commitments equal in terms of their functions? William James doubted this a hundred years ago. Fifty years ago, Allport presented qualitative data to? suggest that some religion is more "mature" than others. Now, the "Positive Psychology" movement has quite a bit of data to show that this is not the case.

What a nice way to say to someone that they haven't got a clue what they are talking about. Perhaps for religiously indoctrinated person the religion plays a role in self-esteem and self-actualization. However the same could be said for any other system of thought (beliefs and knowledge) in which an individual has been indoctrinated. The? system of thought tends to put pressure down the pyramid "deforming" the naturally emerging needs. Religion in that respect is way off the natural way.
